  I have dealt with Duryee &Son for over 20 years.
  I have dealt with them personally and professionally ( being on the cemetery committee).
  When you are dealing with the lowest part of your life, making arrangements for a loved one it is wonderful to have a company that helps you through these rough times.
  I would recommend Doug and his crew to anyone anytime..

  There are many places you can go to buy monuments, but if your looking for true craftsmanship and perfection, you will find it at A L Duryee & Son. I stumbled on this place years back when I was looking for some footstones and engraving to be done for my family plot. It was a very easy job and I met with Douglas Sutphen. He was very easy to work with and found him to be very accommodating . I gave him the job and it went down without a hitch. I walked away after meeting this young man and realized I would be back when I was ready to commit to a family stone.
  
  It's never easy having to choose the right stone for the site, with me it took a lot of thought because I was looking for something Simple but Striking . Something that would hold its look through the ages. It was very important to me.
  I again contacted Douglas and during my visit I proceeded to explain what I was looking for. We walked around , looked at different stones until he got a feel for what I wanted. Now yes you may say , they all do that, but I liked that he was asking questions and actually thinking about what "I " had in my mind. He did some schetches and I realized He had a good sense of design . He truly enjoys his craft. He creates..... Needless to say the stone for my family plot is beautiful. My sister and I are very pleased with the outcome. He pulled what I had in my mind and had his stone cutters make it happen. I have a few more jobs for him in the future. He does some terrific work. Color, Stone , Texture, Engraving nothing is overlooked. His integrity for the job and the service he offers are boundless. His workmanship is Wonderful.
